I got teary eyed thinking about Cash the other day

Thought Rango was boring as shit when I first saw it. Fell asleep multiple times. Was aware that a lot of work went into it and it was nominated for a bunch of stuff...so I really tried to like it, but just wasn't feeling it. Been thinking about game of thrones recently since I brought up that Cersei walk of shame scene. It's wild how nobody gives a damn anymore about a show that held much of pop culture hostage for the past decade or so. And a similar thing happened with the recent Star Wars trilogy...because the produc...

Rewatch 1. Me, Myself & Irene - I used to like this movie. What a mistake that was. I think it's because at the time it came out, I was a huge Jim Carrey fan and just automatically liked anything he was in. It's pretty bad, though. The character of Whitey is maybe the one good thing. Perhaps th...

You might like it then. It's about the search for a missing girl, so it has dark elements from the very beginning...even though I'd say the show is mostly light/comedic. But then it gets darker in unexpected ways, while somehow maintaining it's comedic elements. Weird show but I've enjoyed it so far.

Surprised I haven't seen anyone mention 'Search Party' here

It's such a strange comedy...it gets unexpectedly darker and darker as the story unfolds(which might be kind of a spoiler once you've been primed to expect that, but it's a difficult show to describe/recommend). I've never seen anything like it.

I'd say the end of 'The Witch' was more of a self-fulfilling prophecy. The lesson was not simply that they were right all along(ironically), but that their underlying bigotries/paranoia(though manipulated/exacerbated by the devil) helped create the conditions that led to those fears coming true.

The irony of the girl being pushed to selling her soul to the devil due to the misogynistic bs happening to her is a dark twist fitting for a horror movie.
