Yeah, Sicario was kind of flat and empty.
Ex Machina was great. It's funny that the two male leads are both in the new Star Wars.

The Big Short A lot of technical jargon about banks and real estate that I didn't understand adding up to explaining the housing crisis and global economic collapse in the mid-to-late-2000s. Entertaining performances from Christian Bale, Ryan Gosling, Brad Pitt, Steve Carrell and others. Ultimately...

I saw about half of it. Not bad. I should probably make time for the whole thing.
I'm going to see The Big Short tonight and The Hateful Eight tomorrow, probably. Two important ones that might make the list.

There's a local theater called The Tower that I've always loved and is basically my second home. It's small, what some might call "quaint", and aesthetically beautiful. It plays the small "indie" flicks and occasionally airs classics. Every time I'm there is my best theater exper...

I liked the juxtaposition of the sun being completely drained and Kylo deciding to kill Han. The sun's light and Kylo's light got sucked out at the same instant. Not bad. It's like he was actually considering indulging in the light before that happened. And I generally agree with the thought that Re...

Re: I'm kinda getting excited about Star Wars now
The originals suck. The prequels suck more. This new one, I suspect, will be to Star Wars fans what the new Star Trek movies are to Star Trek fans. Nah, the originals had a good mixture of heart, humor, wonder, and adventure. The Han Solo character brought most of that too. If it weren't for Harris...

it surprised me when I heard people criticise moderate Muslims for staying silent. They're not silent, they're really mad. Yeah, I know. There's a thing called "strength of victory", which is yeah basically strength of schedule. Take the combined winning percentage of teams that they've beaten. So, Denver's just played teams with slightly better records than the Pats. And both of them slightly more than the Bengals.
