Re: Touching movie scenes

Tangled: That whole scene with the king and queen and the lanterns' initial release (before the 'I See the Light' sequence). Just the emotion they get across without any words being spoken gets to me, not to mention the music that follows.

You know it was coming: UP: Everyone talks about the beginning of Up, but the whole reason for his trip is because he feels he was unable to keep his promise to Ellie to give her a grand adventure. Re: Musicals

If it puts your mind at ease, action movies are just musicals for dudes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7iV-HZlMQM [laugh] Even so, there are some musicals that are more "girly" than others. "Grease" is one of the girliest ones, and I should be deeply ashamed for liking it. I e...

Re: Actors you really like

Bruce Campbell & Alan Tudyk are the only two that come to mind Totally with you on Tudyk; though I have to wonder how much of that is just my love for Firefly moreso than the actor. And Bruce Campbell too; definitely. Not sure how "unknown" he is, but probably enough that the average ...

Re: I've got good news & bad news

If you want to drop weight start running. So this. I started going to the gym a couple years ago; and did weight lifting and other strength exorcises for a while. Not only didn't I lose weight, I didn't feel more in shape either. Then I switched to running. Lost 30 pounds, BAM. Well if you only eve...

Wait wait wait, I forgot Labyrinth, Labyrinth is an amazing musical. I know I'm a hypocrite for not caring about Tim Curry in stockings when I care about David Bowie in leggings but the difference is that Labyrinth is terrific. Labyrinth is a musical? Re: "The plight of the bitter nerd: Why so many awkward, shy guys end up hating feminism"

I think many nerds think/thought the feminist movement would encourage more women to initiate first date invitations (this is something I used to think). Due to their own experiences, this doesn't seem to be the case and rather than examine their own issues they place blame on feminists. I suppose i...

What in the world are you talking about? Most of those seem pretty off-center to me. I wouldn't have heard of most without coming on here. The only issue I have is how the hell do you nominate "Everything is Awesome" for best original song but not "The Lego Movie" for best animat...

Re: Musicals

My favorite live action musicals are Singin' in the Rain and White Christmas. I think part of it is that the characters are also performers, so their spontaneous singing is built in. My favorite songs in Singin' in the Rain: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SND3v0i9uhE http://ww.youtube.com/watch?v=GB...

Disney Fight #2

That last one was rather girly, so I thought I'd make this one more masculine. And what's more masculine than hunting. This one will be a vs on two Disney villains who poach or otherwise trade in exotic animals. I feel as this one might be rather easy, but I won't reveal my thoughts on this one just...
