Yeah, I'm not reading his book. I'm too lazy to spend my leisure time reading non-fiction, not to mention so far what I've read on this thread hasn't exactly been a ringing endorsement.
In regards to your last sentence, my thought was that when you agree with DA, DA might wanna rethink his position.

I don't think what I said was really that bad. It could have been worded a lot better, though. I mean, either it's terribly worded or you and Peter Singer are batshit crazy. What I just read was, "If someone's an inconvenience to you, their life isn't worth a goddam and you should just kill th...

Well now I know why my mom never wanted me to read It. We had just about every Stephen King book and I read most of them, but I never read It, partly because I wasn't allowed to when I was younger, and partly because I tried reading it later and didn't get past the first few pages. Also, this thread...

The biggest problem I see with this idea that Sansa barely had a eureka moment in the last episode is how Arya would suddenly be all warm and fuzzy with Sansa if she wasn't acting earlier. So she wised up to Littlefinger and now Arya suddenly does a complete 180 about shit that didn't even have anyt...

It's dumb. I think McGregor and Mayweather are playing everyone for suckers. It's $99.99 on PPV to watch the greatest boxer of our time, who is well past his prime, toy with a great fighter for a while. It's definitely a circus, and probably not worth ten bucks if you're looking for a quality boxing...

The theory posits that they are speaking loudly intentionally, and the door's open so one could assume Littlefinger or one of his spies is eavesdropping. Arya's the type of character that would know when she's being followed or watched. They wouldn't want to make it obvious for the audience, or it w...

This is potentially a spoiler, but it's really just fan theory at this point, albeit solidly based on evidence. So if you're reading this, what do you all think of the theory that Arya knows Littlefinger's trying to play her, and she and Sansa are setting a trap for Littlefinger? A popular theory is...

I thought the title said George R.R. Martin died at first and I was like "Oh, fuck, no more ASOIAF." And then I thought to myself, well, it's not like he was ever going to finish it anyway, so I guess it doesn't matter. I think the only way it will be finished at this point is if Martin d...

Well in the books it's strongly suggested Joffrey did it, but the show is at least hinting it was Littlefinger, although I don't think they confirmed anything. It's entirely possible that in both versions of this story Littlefinger manipulated Joffrey into hiring an amateur assassin to kill Bran. Wa...

Dany was too overpowered, so something had to happen to even the odds a bit. I admit, I expected Euron to try to snag Sansa or Tyrion, or even Lady Tyrell as his "gift" for Cersei. Wasn't expecting it to be the queen of Dorne. So who will be in charge of Dorne with Ellaria captured and he...

Not really a fan of tattoos or piercings. Facial piercings are particularly off-putting for me, but I know nobody goes in to get a piercing like, "I wonder what Bruce will think of this," so I keep my distaste to myself, except in this thread, because you sort of asked.

In my circles atheist is still a dirty word, but not for the same reasons as you mentioned. It's more the amoral, baby-eating type thing. People are still very religious here, so I don't go around calling myself an atheist.

I also had no idea who Ed Shereen was. My wife later asked me if he came out, and I remembered seeing a story about a new casting choice for the arch-maester and figured it was him. Then she was like, "no, he was supposed to be in a scene with Arya," and I thought of someone else - the dud...

Spoiler alert, Calvinism is the only way an omnipotent, omniscient creator makes any sense. God just created play things and enjoys punishing some of them for turning out exactly as He created them.

Well I know they had paired up, and last time Liszt posted here she mentioned living in England, so I figure Whitey was part of the reason for her moving there, although she had been talking about relocating to Europe to practice dentistry for some time.
