Re: Interesting article on public shaming and social media

No, I'm not playing dumb. Your position was not as clear as you seem to believe. And regarding your last point, I suspect there is a dangerous conflation being made between self-defense/fighting back and retribution. And it's a conflation I've seen used to defend the status quo far too often. It's v...

I laughed a little too hard at this episode of 'Friends'

When I was 15, we were visited by a couple of my cousins from England...for the first time. Brother and sister. They were about 17 at the time(very close in age). Turns out my female cousin was extremely attractive(I had never even seen pictures of them previously..and barely even knew they existed....

Re: Interesting article on public shaming and social media

As long as oppression exists you can't look at people as individuals. Yes I can, and I will. The quotes provided by Cassius Clay justify it. If you want to prevent people from being raced, the solution is as unavoidable as it is difficult: eliminate racial hierarchy. The truth is, as long as there ...

Something sort of neat about 'Inception'

The dramatic trombone effects seem to be a slowed down version of the "kick" music by Edith Piaf used in the film. Time is slowed down in the dream, so when the music it's played it ought to be heard slower. So, the score reflects that aspect of the film logic by using a slowed down versio...

As long as white supremacy exists, treating white individuals as members of a group is necessary...as the second article explains. Then we'll have to agree to disagree on this one. I believe the second article was saying that it's not good to treat people as a "stand-in" for their race. T...
