Names of episodes of TV shows are interesting in general, because most shows never show the name as part of the episode, so the name is only learned by having the DVDs or by looking it up. Some shows like TNG and DS9 always show the names though.
Anyway, a few series I can think of use a unique naming convention. Every episode of Seinfeld is "The _____". Smallville used one-word titles for all episodes. Friends used "The one where ____". Finally, Scrubs uses "My ____" for all episodes, except a few where the narrator changes and it's "His Story" or "Her Story". But I believe none of these shows display the name of the episode as part of the show. Maybe Smallville?
Anyway, are there other shows that followed a unique naming convention? And what other shows display the episode name as part of the show?
Fun fact, 2 episodes of The Simpsons display the episode name in the show. "22 Short Films About Springfield", and "The Simpsons 138th Episode Spectacular". The Halloween episodes do not, because they display "The Simpsons Halloween Special" though the actual name is "Treehouse of Horror."

Re: Interesting episode naming conventions
I watched every episode of Smallville and don't remember seeing the title of the episode on screen. I didn't even know they were all one word.

Ok, they must not have then. The the only things I can think of for sure that display the titles are TNG, DS9, and Sliders, but Sliders started doing it part-way through the series.

The one that immediately springs to mind (in fact, its what I thought your post was gonna be about) is "The Big Bang Theory" where every episode is named after an actual theory - but with obvious alterations for episode relevance.Gendo wrote:Names of episodes of TV shows are interesting in general, because most shows never show the name as part of the episode, so the name is only learned by having the DVDs or by looking it up. I have no idea whether you ever see the title or not on the actual show thon
