TV Hemlock Grove

Post by Gypsy-Vanner »

Netflix original series.

I had no idea what I was getting myself into with this. I was bored and it kept showing up in recommendations so I watched the first episode and ended up watching all three seasons in 2 days. What a big old pile of fuckery this was. I mean that in a good way. I felt like it was a bit like American Horror Story seasons 1 and 2. It was a mess with your mind trip basically. I do think they lost a bit of their flow in season 3 as the "villain" was a bit corny.

I liked that it was only a dozen episodes per season so it was drawn out. The ending was not what I was expecting, kind of took me by shock actually but the more I think about it the more fitting it becomes.

I'd recommend this to anyone who can handle weird and gross with a bit of nuts thrown in for good measure.

I like Hemlock Grove snuff - more "Good filler" rather than compulsory viewing.
Only watched the first two seasons so far .. Really like Famke .. need to get round to watching the last season and see where this all lands.

Well, to be honest it seems like the writers gave no fucks whatsoever in season 3, there are plot holes and inconsistencies but it was still good enough to watch.

Working my way thru a couple of other current series at the moment cos travelling is really getting in the way of me sitting down in front of the tellie - or even getting time to watch shows on my puter.
Trying to finish off "Fear the walking dead" . getting current on "The walking dead" and have just become current on "The flash".. when that's all done, I'll definitely start on Hemlock Grove Season 3 but hoping for another season of Sense8

Oh hell ya! Sense8 season 2, I am beyond excited for that! I sincerely hope the writers do not fuck up this show in any way.

I couldn't get into Flash, I tried though with 8 episodes but I gave up. I like Daredevil a whole heck of a lot better. I'm watching some new Sci-Fi series called Dark Matter.

Not bad, reminiscent of Firefly in certain ways. The premise of 6 people waking from sleeping pods on a ship with all their memories having been wiped is actually pretty interesting as long as they don't drag it out for 10 seasons. Apparently, it has some chick Ruby or something or other that is a big hit on Orange is the New Black which I've never seen.

Flash gets better toward the end of the season. The last five or six episodes are great. The best episodes are the ones where Green Arrow makes an appearance because the guy with super speed needs help from a guy with a bow. [none]

I don't think I can push myself to watch anymore of it. It was so utterly dull to me.

Isnt' there another show on same network called Arrow? Are they spin offs?

Yeah, Barry Allen first appeared on Arrow and the two characters have appeared on each other's show several times.

I think networks are taking cross overs and spin offs to an extreme. Fox just did a cross over between Sleepy Hallow and Bones. [none]

I mean, one is a show about evil magicky things that are trying to destroy the world using evil magicky ways while the other is a show about a detective and a clinically sounding dead person examiner.

It was...strange.

Okay yeah, that's stupid. I've never watched Sleepy Hollow but that sounds as ridiculous as a crossover between Law & Order and Family Guy. I used to watch Bones and thought it was brilliant when a guy who had been part of the main cast for three years ended up being a serial killer's assistant. But I never could get used to David Boreantz, a guy with zero acting ability whose only fans are women with no concept of acting ability.

I don't care much for the chick. Her voice is very monotone to me and grates on my ears.

I liked Bones when I used to watch it, but there seemed to be no real character growth for the main character.
