Sticky situation. White lady writes book about black gang life in neighborhoods she's scarcely likely to have spent any significant time in. Hmm. Lots of history as to why ghettos exist at all. I do hope this book wasn't written from an ivory tower, but I'm not confident that it wasn't. I feel like the timing for this book amid all the attention police murders this past year have been getting is rather convenient. Whatever. I'm going to read this book.
