He's a pretty big deal with the pinko flag-burning death-to-America crowd. Not as big as Chomsky, maybe, but pretty up there. I never got what the big deal with him was. But Cassius has been all about how terrible the far left has been with this election, and I thought this would be a pretty pitch perfect example.

This guy and his followers are a few of the people I was referring to when I said I'd had concerns about racism/sexism on the left(or, at least, privilege blindness that might lend itself to collusion with the right), even before this election cycle, that have been confirmed by the election. I looked him up on Wiki. I can see no justification for this person still being alive to have an opinion on Hillary vs. Trump. I'm not even talking about his political views. That faux psychoanalytic bullshit should be grounds for death in every country on earth.

Yeah like I said I never really got the point of him. He might say some interesting stuff but I shouldn't have to slog through an avalanche of crap to get to it. He can be funny sometimes though.

Yes. It's clear the far left has problems with bigotry and privilege blindness, but frankly I think it pales in comparison to the bigotry and privilege blindness of literally everywhere else, and even if it didn't I don't really know how it can be compared to the alt right, who are some of the worst people on earth and who are literally defined by bigotry and privilege blindness. Despite people like Slavoj Zizek I can't find any other group of people who are, in general, more aware of how oppression and power operate. I mean, the term "brocialist" was originally made up by the far left to distinguish people in their ranks who don't care about social justice. I think there are a lot of shitty leftists, way too many, and they often don't get enough pushback, but in general the far left is vastly superior to everyone else. Which sucks, because it's really not all that great.

Relatedly, have you heard of the book 'Queen of Chaos' by Diana Johnstone? I just now got around to it. Oh my God. It's really a perfect encapsulation of what you're talking about.

That book was so amazingly goddamn stupid and terrible that I plan on reviewing it here. Just ridiculously awful. And it got praise from so many prominent leftists... Ralph Nader, Chris Hedges, Doug Henwood, Edward Herman, William Blum (all white guys, lol), that I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. And I had been looking forward to it for a long time, I thought it was going to be the definitive take down of Hillary. God it was disappointing.
