You'll think I'm crazy, but on a basic musical level this isn't terrible; the problem is entirely the piss-poor execution (synths/singing). It sounds like a typical 80s mainstream rock song otherwise. Were Rush playing/singing this exact song, it might actually be pretty good and would fit well on their 80s albums.

If you played the original 1996 release, the song wasn't there. It was only created for and added in to the 1997 Director's Cut release, which only makes its existence even more .
