Should it be legal to kill stupid people?

I'm not talking about your average everyday morons that you probably meet on a daily basis but never really engage in conversation. But what about the people who remain just ass-munching dumb as a brick after years of having the simplest concepts explained to them? I'm talking people like Vegas, ErJen, Blade, Ada, Mutha, Deanshore and any number of other permanent fuckwits you can think of. Is there any justification for it to remain illegal to do humanity, and especially the gene pool, a service by eliminating these embarrassments from society? We could make a sport of it, just round them all up and brand "Dumbass" into their foreheads then release them back into the public and only give out licenses to hunt dumbasses to the most skilled marksmen (I know a few of those). At the end of each year there could be an awards ceremony. Some really good rifleman could win by bagging two Vegases, an Erjen, three Blades and an Ada. If there was a cash award this could stimulate the economy as well as providing worthwhile recreation all while keeping the genetic code as decent as possible. This is an idea that should be given some serious consideration. It could even be considered a civic duty.

It's a plan most cunning even if its tongue in cheek (assuming its tongue in cheek).. Problem here is putting in place a mechanism for identifying the candidates. As you said, most people you meet exist in the middle ground of functionally intelligent with certain hot button issues where personal bias gets centre stage and no amount of reasoning will persuade them beyond their convictions, this is true of people even if their convictions lead them to the "right" conmclusions.

I suspect Vegas has moderately normal intelligence when it comes to most things. I really don't think he's as bone stupid as most people paint him. But when it comes to certain issues (like rape or white privilege) .. he's got his own understanding of things and can't make the paradigm shift.. But I do think his views are pretty garden variety so picking him as a suitable candidate would mean picking a good solid 50%^ of the population as candidates.
Mutha - I suspect is actually reasonably intelligent but a kinda professional victim mixed with a good dose of deliberate pot stirring.
Ada, and I say this without hyperbole, suffers from some sort of mental illness.. She can be moderately lucid on certain points but on other points doesn't come over as being stupid as much as unhinged.
Erjen and blade are excellent examples of people who are borderline too stupid to live. There is no line of reasoning on almost any subject where they come across as thoughtful or considerate or even rational.

So - I vote Erjen and Blade as first up against the wall .. I'd put Ada in treatment and tend to just ignore Vegas and Mutha when they take a stand and be amused by them when they're being normalish.

Deanshore - I have had almost nothing at all to do with and so have no idea's at all.

:) ... I'm still around .. kinda lurking at the moment for a variety of reasons. Pretty busy with work - loads of travel on right now getting ready for our end of financial year (was in Nz and Brissy last week, Canberra the week before, Sydney before that - never fucking ends, then in the states in a couple of weeks) Still building this fucking Deck-taj-majal (looking for a good cheap roofer at the moment - know anyone?)

Past that - I at the point where a great many of the posts here, while interesting, just don't seem all that good natured anymore. So I read thru them and have a think about where I stand with what's being discussed but really don't share the same level of emotion as who ever it is getting into it so .. prefer to lurk and learn and keep a distance from all the rhetoric.

I can't really remember for sure how long ago I changed but I actually thought that its been so long that I went by Jattard that no one would even remember that moniker.. Yeah - I honestly have no fixed opinion. To me he seems a bit more adolescent that outright stupid in so much as he can be funny and can make decent points but seems fixated on being on certain key points from what appears to be a lack of willingness to back down from an entrenched position than anything else. I did masquerade on the board for a while under a sock where I took him on on white privilege - just to see if it was history that made him so intractable .. and his entire argument did seem to be "I'm white and not rich ergo - white privilege is the wrong word" .. and no amount of "privilege =/= rich" talk would get him to understand the argument at all .. so, who knows.

The rapey stuff - like his decision to keep making rape jokes to someone who had been raped and asked him to please stop - came over as pure adolescent dig yourself in deeper rather than apologise cos if I think its a joke then everyone should see it as a joke crap.. not stupid just really terrible at empathy/social rules type stuff.

But I've not had all that much to do with him. There are very few people on these boards that I feel all that strongly for hate wise. Blade is an arsehole with absolutely no redeeming qualities at all .. So I don't feel all that school bullyish when people hang it on him. Erjen, is one weird fucked up muther fucking fuck .. I don't think I feel any emotion in his direction past confusion that anyone can be that messed up .. but once again, he's a hateful SOB so .. I don't care if people give as good as they get.

Ada - always strikes me as the mad cat women from the Simpsons, she's hateful, damaged, a shrieking cow with no end of offensive opinions but also completely representative of someone who's suffering from early onset dementia ..
