I was thinking the U.S. (specifically NYC; I miss it) or UK or Australia or Sweden. And yeah, there are people like that everywhere, but there are proportionally fewer of them and I don't feel so alone, and there are significant numbers of people who challenge them when bigotry happens. Whereas currently I might be walking down the street or taking the bus and knowing that about 75% of the random strangers around me would probably hate me if they knew, and most of the rest wouldn't do anything if someone were to say something, and that sucks. It's the isolation that gets to me.
