Unfortunately I've already learned that DA's opinion on movies is worthless to me. I need someone else to say that it's just ok, or that it's not that great, because otherwise it's been so hyped up that it may make me enjoy it less by comparison.

Nightcrawler was quite good. I would have liked to see a bit more from the ending; the police investigation and such. Definitely agree that Jake should have been nominated for, if not won, best actor.

What could the police do? Jake's character had a perfectly rational explanation for everything, and didn't even remotely crack when interrogated. He gave them no probable cause for a search warrant, and it's not like he was black or anything. There wouldn't be much of an investigation.

It's a performance movie. You see that movie just to see Jake's performance which was brilliant. The rest of the movie was ok.

The music was meant as a reflection of the protagonists's mental state, not a way to set atmosphere. Therefore, with that purpose, it was also very good.

Also, I have never been wrong on this board when it comes to movies so far.

A lot of people get caught up in the amazing performances and literal story-telling (which are obviously incredible) and have missed the undertones of theme that most movies prioritize and therefore are always on the forefront of what the audience takes away (every Oscar-winning movie ever). And that's what I liked about Nightcrawler; the themes are understated but there if you're paying attention.

I think I gave the movie 7 or 8 out of 10. It's here in this board somewhere. So maybe you guys should stop fanboying on it. All I said was that Jake's performance was what's special about the movie. Don't get worked up on me for using the word "ok" on the rest of it, I might as well could have used "good" of whatever word I felt like saying. It's not a big deal.
