I've decided to start this new stage of my life

by cleaning up all my the crap out of my room.

The problem is that last time I cleaned my room it was 2008. So... I don't know if I should throw out most of my notebooks. Do people really check or go back to their notebooks when they don't know something?

I'm gonna throw everything out.

OK!

I'll follow your advice. It has taken me three trash bags to clean the desk part. I even found shoes in there. I think I might be a hoarder. [none]

And that's just one part of my room, I still need to go to the mirror part, half of it is filled with pill boxes, jewelry I never use and lots of coins, then try to recover my dentistry box that's underneath shoe boxes that don't have any shoes, then throw away clothes, since my table is filled with clothes because my closet is filled with clothes I've owned since I was 17. Then recover my table. Then I'll have a normal room again!

Oh And I probably have to wash my stuffed animals and barbies. Probably find another place for them. The sun is ruining them. I bet maybe I will have to throw half of them out too. [sad]

This is important since the last time I did this I was a happy person that used to do stuff.

I have always kept my notebooks from college and university thinking I will check back on them. 10 years later and I've still not re-read them. When I do another big clear out they will be binned. Just toss everything in the trash.

I save everything because I am a hoarder. Like, what if I need something? What if I need all the things? My friend teased me about the weight of my bag this week, and I was like 'Well, I have to have my notebook, pens, emergency pens, my sketchpad, a book, a book in case I am not in the mood for the first book, gloves, an umbrella, sunglasses, deodorant, lipstick, tampons, painkillers, hayfever pills, my phone, my purse, my inhaler, my chequebook, my travel hairbrush, hairgrips, and then some non-essentials'. But when everyone is like 'Oh, I don't have a pen! And my head aches! And also I am asthmatic!', I get to lean back in my seat all 'Well well well, look who just came crawling back'.

I can't remember the last time I wrote a cheque. Does anyone even do that anymore? I have no idea where my chequebook is and would be screwed if I needed to write one...

Two words "Phone Banking" .. I haven't touched a cheque in years and can't imagine why anyone with a smart phone would need them.
Phone banking is so much easier, quicker, free and the better for both parties given the money is transferred immediately so the person getting the money is happier and the person sending the money knows the account has been reconciled immediately.

And this is why I don't use phone banking [none]

lol - I discovered phone banking about 2 years ago, it was around before then but tended to do everything banking wise thru WebBanking - which always required that I remember a bank issues user ID (huge fucking number that I had to write down and leave in my wallet so I'd remember it -so that If I ever lost my wallet, I'd be well and truly fucked) ..
Plus an additional password to add to my mile long list of passwords and account ID's that I need to remember.. I mean, it was convenient once you got in there ..
Phone banking = one pin that is the same as my normal pin .. and Presto, I can do everything I need to do. It is truly a wonder of the modern age and given I wrote some of the code that drives it here, I'm happy to utilise my laurels.

The only "dire emergencies" I ever remember needing my chequebook for was when I was a student and I'd run out money - I could still pay for things by cheque courtesy of the cheque guarantee card (and take up the issue with the bank later...). But fortunately those days are long since gone now and I'm a lot more solvent now.

(And for all you Americans out there - it's no where near as big a deal writing a bad cheque over here as it is in America)
