Movie I Saw: Hercules

Post by Unvoiced_Apollo »

This is the one with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. It is not to be confused with that utterly craptacular "Legend of Hercules" movie which not only completly ignored most of the lore, but it tried to ripoff biblical lore by making Hercules essentially Moses. This version takes existing lore & works in how Hercules could have been real and how the legend developed. There's really nothing new in terms of movie making, but it was pretty fun to watch. The CGI was very noticeable at times and the camera angles were often shot in a way that could only be for 3-D. Overall, 6/10.

It wasn't terrible. It just wasn't really anything to write home about, fun though it might be.

I really like the aspect, though I think some TV movie did the same thing years earlier, where he was supposedly just this really strong mortal who had a legend built up around him.
