French attitude just like white people can't dance don't have the same weight as rape jokes or racial jokes. Why? Because of oppression.

I really don't like it when people force me to agree with Liszt, so I'm just going to say I agree with her for different reasons. It's like supporting the right to keep and bear arms while recognizing that the NRA is just a shill organization for the gun manufacturers.

France rightfully belongs to Germany. They won it twice. Okay, they showed up at the border twice and the French said "Oh here, take it."

When Mur first raised her objection to French jokes I was one of the first people to point out that jokes about the French are not the same as jokes about oppressed countries, and I said I agree with that in this thread. I'm not sure why you're pointing that out to me.

If someone was legitimately offended by me making jokes about white people not being able to dance, I wouldn't make jokes about it in their presence, because I think that's just the decent thing to do, and it has nothing to do social justice. I might still tell them that white people are the King Joffrey of race, because that's actually making a valid point, but saying white people can't dance doesn't make any point at all.

Technically, no one is making jokes about France in Mur's presence.

If you'd like to drop her a PM advising she avoid this thread, so as not to be offended, that would aid in her whole, y'know, not being offended by French jokes thing, whilst allowing us to continue being infantile about those cheese eating surrender monkeys

Well maybe you shouldn't make offensive jokes about the French, then. Let everyone else do it since France is not oppressed, is not a beacon of untouchable lightness, is not anything. Yeah, it was an overly dramatic example just to make my point. I'm sure Mur is not all that upset about French jokes, but it bothered her enough to mention it, and I was just suggesting people consider her feelings.
