1) Run a PVC pipe through the middle of a barrel
2) Fill barrel with concrete.
3) Two protesters on either side join hands and cuff themselves together inside the PVC.
4) Every commuter of every race in Boston probably hates you now.

Yeah seems like there would have been a way to get the message across without endangering innocents, given that the theme is objecting to institutionalized danger to innocents.
