I decided to do a DIY costume inspired by the street rat version of Aladdin.

Never really been a fan of Halloween, aside from seeing girls dressing really slutty [none] so I won't be doing anything. Although it seems to be quickly catching on in the UK, I still don't think it's as big a holiday here as the US.

Doubtful, but my son is dressing up as a spooky skeleton pirate thingy. Like in Pirates of the Caribbean when the pirates get all ghost-y. Pretty sweet.

I hate dressing up. Never do anything for Halloween.

A woman at my new work who's training with me hates Halloween more though as she has some sort of phobia about not being able to see a persons face. Like if she sees people in masks, or say she's at a theme park where they have mascots in full outfits, she feels sick. Halloween will be interesting at work as people apparently like to dress up.

I never used to do anything for Hallowe'en but we have a Hallowe'en event where I work so I always go and dress up. I'm not sure whether I'll be able to go this time (Dad still isn't driving) but if I can, then I'm going as Maleficent. Jolie Maleficent not animated Maleficent, mostly because no one has time to spend the next three weeks scraping green makeup out of their ears. I love dressing up, I would wear a costume every day if I could (I usually do, it is one called Functioning Adult). The only thing more fun than dressing up is making your costume.

In other words you're playing a victim who relegates what should be her most badass moment to a man rather than playing the mistress of all evil. [none]

Maleficent not turning into a dragon herself was the only thing about that film that made me really angry. Of course, I will also not be turning into a dragon at Hallowe'en (probably?) so I feel like Jolie Maleficent will be easier to emulate. I will be cursing babies though.

I have a baby shower the day after Hallowe'en so I feel like I must remember to stop my baby cursing before then.

So long as you use the 1959 version of the curse.

That is excellent. I had to miss my party so no dress-up for me.

Thanks. I would go shirtless and show off my shocking lack of abs, but the gathering is at a restaurant & it's cold outside.

I had to put sweat pants underneath because the other pants were a bit too transluscent when sitting

I hope you at least stole bread from the restaurant and ran away over the rooftops while people sang at you.

Sadly no bread & the rooftops are too far apart for such antics. But the gathering is a karaoke meetup, so technically people are singing at me.

I sang "Friend Like Me" because they didn't have "One Jump Ahead".

Sorry to hear you're sick. Thanks. It took me all of 20 minutes putting it together (the shirt was a bitch to cut)
