Your Best theater experience

I went to Alamo Drafthouse to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens and it by far is my favorite theater. Reserved seating, full dining and drink menu, an enforced no talking policy, enforced cell phone ban (required to turn them off), enforced no baby policy (yes! thank you!), no seating 10 minutes before the movie (they give you a refund if you couldn't make it & potty breaks are fine. just no trying to find your seat in the dark if you haven't already found it), great pre-show(it's all relevant to the movie rather than just random sh!t promoters or local companies buy spots for), and a nice, big screen.

I just wish it wasn't an hour and a half away.

There's a local theater called The Tower that I've always loved and is basically my second home. It's small, what some might call "quaint", and aesthetically beautiful. It plays the small "indie" flicks and occasionally airs classics. Every time I'm there is my best theater experience, and that's like three or four times a week.

I don't know if this was the best but my most memorable one was the first time I was in an IMAX theater as a kid.

And I somehow still haven't seen Star Wars yet. Can't seem to find the bloody time. Almost saw it tonight but spent too much time at my family's for Christmas. I've got Star Wars blue balls like a motherfucker.

My best theater experiences all happened in the early 80s at Drive-Ins. Yes children, those places actually existed.

We still have a drive-in. It's awesome, just not my first choice.

As far as I'm aware, most cinemas in the UK are now generic multiplexes like Odeon and Cineworld. Never seen, or been to, a small town cinema.

Apollo, since you're in the general area; have you ever been to The Uptown in DC? It's where I saw all the Star Wars re-releases.

No. Is it easily accessible by Metro?

Yeah, right next to Cleveland Park Metro. It's a really old theater with just a single, huge screen.

Theaters are for pussies. A real person waits for it come out on video and then watches from the safety of their beds with taco bell surrounding them (and beggar cats) so they can cry at the sad parts in privacy or wank off to the sex parts in privacy.

There's nothing about a public movie theater that prevents me from wanking off to the sex parts.
