Law students anonymously scold professor for wearing "black lives matter" shirt.

Anyone else get the idea that this was just written by 1 student, on his own, who just decided that it would look better if he wrote "we" instead?

Probably some white kid whose dad donated lots of money to the university.

I bet it was that Philip Seymour Hoffman kid from Scent of a Woman.

I could picture a group of fuckers getting together and the "smartest" one sitting down and typing that shit, while his buddies egged him on.

Oh my God, these jumped-up little potatoes. I cannot imagine the arrogance necessary to try and educate your professor on a) the purpose of your university, b) what they should be teaching you, c) the idea that you can apparently ever understand or successfully practice law (or more importantly, justice) without also understanding society, d) what Black Lives Matter is about, e) literally anything, you are like 18, you don't know dick about shit.

I have a feeling this is probably fake though. Like 95% of these types of things are.

I wondered that too but also I know that even if it is fake, these people absolutely exist and you can throw a rock and hit about fourteen of them on every given part of the internet and, indeed, should.

EDIT: Probably real, unless they also made a fake law professor? https://www.insidehighered.com/news/201 ... tter-shirt

Huh. I guess it's real.

Also can we put these people in the "oversensitive coddled PC SJW college kids" group everyone keeps complaining about? 'Cuz they fit.

It feels pretty real to me. That type of arrogance, rhetoric, dishonesty and ignorance feels too familiar to me. I think when people try to "fake" the arguments of the opposing side, they have trouble making it seem genuine.

And to show how sexism is still prevalent in our culture; I'd read the whole letter with the image of a man as the professor.

I assumed it was a tall, white man in his late 40s or early 50s...so...yeah

I also thought the professor was probably a man and will be shooting myself against my own wall come the revolution. Wait wait wait, maybe we're just aware of the systemic bias against women in academia and are adjusting our expectations accordingly (SAVED IT).

That - and older women (which a professor is likely to be) don't often wear t-shirts with slogans on them, but an older man is probably going to feel less concerned about wearing a t-shirt.

I'm not saying that's right, just the way things seem to be,

78% of statistics on the Internet are fake.

That was a statistic in my head though.

IIRC the student was also female, and apparently a first-year law student. I'd also imagined both student and professor to be male.

But now it's on the Internet, so 78% of it is fake.
