Started an appropriation thread on RFS that's meant to be a trap

Just to see how many people have a problem with wearing shirts with a band logo you don't listen to, yet pretend they don't understand why some find cultural appropriation offensive. If you don't see why either are annoying, or see why both are...then, obviously the trap isn't meant for you(I'm looking at you phe_de). So, play along, if you'd like...but try not to give the game away. Thanks!

(Got the idea from someone over a year ago, but I can't remember where.)

You probably got the idea from me since all great ideas are mine.

Ummm....I'm no longer sure if skyhawk is playing along, or he really can't grasp that I'm clearly being satirical.

I am 100% sure it is the latter.

Seconded. I mean, I haven't read the thread but I can read Skyhawk.

It's really marvelous. Even though he is technically arguing the "correct" position, he is so full of himself in his attempts to school me, that he's blind to the clear signals I'm sending. I mean, I blatantly fucking said, "it's evident", almost immediately after I asked "where is it evident?"

I mean...shouldn't it be clear that people who support positions I'm playing at don't speak so candidly or with that type of self-awareness?

I have a prediction. When the conversation finally ends and you make it clear that you were laying a trap Skyhawk will then claim he knew all along what you were doing and that you still lost the argument. He will also find some way to take something he has already said and twist it to make it mean that he understood the real point of the thread from the start.

I'm almost hesitant to reveal because I suspect that's the way it's gonna go.

How does he not get the very blatant sarcasm?

I think it's time to reveal. Thread is dying.

Probably of boredom. Nobody displayed the double standard the OP hoped to see.

Nobody displayed the double standard because I never brought up cultural appropriation. It's not as if they would randomly volunteer that they just love cultural appropriation.

A few people said they had an issue with folks wearing band shirts to be cool, if they didn't care about the band. But I never pushed them on cultural appropriation 'cause I got a little bored/impatient myself.
