Poll: on the potential electoral college coup

Everyone's talking about how the electoral college might vote against Trump in enough numbers to bring his total down below 270. With the CIA report claiming that Russia helped to get him elected, many people in high places are saying that the electors now have a civic and legal duty to go faithless and prevent his presidency now that he's a potential foreign agent.

What say y'all? It's in five days. Is it gonna happen?

Even if it did happen (no way); the house would just chose Trump anyway. Party loyalty in politics seems way more important than principles.

I get that he's really unpopular (and I understand why - I don't like him either), but it's happened and people just need to accept it and move on with their lives. Trying to find ways to "unseat" him and obsessing over it isn't healthy/helpful.

Just be ready for the next election and do a better job then.

I went for 'not going to happen'. I think that doubling down on poor choices is the American way (and we are no better over here).

I mean, the only reason I'm giving it even a thought is that, yeah, it may be unlikely/close-to-impossible, but... um... so was Trump getting elected in the first place. So was Brexit. The exact same people who say this doesn't have a chance were the same ones who said Trump never had a chance. So... yeah. I'm not taking anything for granted from now on.

I don't even particularly want it to happen. We're just going to ditch Trump and put in another Republican, with a Republican Senate and Republican House? How would that be better? Did people forget how evil your average generic Republican is? I'd rather have Trump than one of them. I mean, are people even paying attention? He's going to to war with the CIA. He's dropped Boeing's stock with a tweet. (A tweet!) He's said he's too smart to get intel briefings. He's meeting with Kanye West. This is AMAZING. I wouldn't miss this for the world. I'm loving it already and it hasn't even started yet.

Some men just want to watch the world burn.

America, at least.

I did say this election caused me to stop caring about anything, and I meant it.

Don't think it would ever happen, but I would be fine if they chose Hillary or another less wholly unqualified Republican.

I would love it if enough Republican electors to put Trump below 270 would choose someone else. Then the election would go to the House. However, I'm worried that if they do choose someone else, the someone else with the most votes would be either Cruz or Rubio and that's far more frightening than Trump.

Yeah. I would, again, like to know the thought process behind the people who just want another "less unqualified" Republican to replace Trump. If we're going to have a Republican with a Republican Senate and a Republican House, Trump is probably one of the better choices. It's like people have the goddamn memory of goldfishes and just forget how purely evil your "average" Republican is.

Well, it didn't happen. Y'all were right.

Oh well, there's always assassination!

Followed by a Mike Pence presidency.

We need a rallying cry:

"Kill Pence first!"

Then we have Paul Ryan for President.

Okay, we need an extended rallying cry:

"Kill Ryan first, Pence second!"

Then we have Orrin Hatch for President and it's probably not going to get any better than that.
