The Pitters' Place

The thing I hate about this shit (apart from the obvious) is that it can be really hard to tell if you're dealing with microaggressive sexism or if you're jumping to conclusions. I have a couple of spheres in my life where old guys like to constantly nitpick what I'm doing and I have no idea if this is about my competency, their personality, or the fact that I am a young woman. Given reports from other women I know, I'm inclined to suspect the latter but misogyny is a subtle and fucked-up thing and so you always second-guess your intuitions.

And also one of the shittiest things people do is call you sensitive or paranoid when (they think!) you jump to conclusions. Like, targets of bigotry are primed to react to bigotry by definition, stop gaslighting them when (according to you!) their bigotry-meter might not not be perfect 100% of the time!
