What's the deal with this? There is a lot of house/trance/club music that have a subtle melancholic feel to it. And the last thing I want is to feel sad and reflective when I'm dancing. I think it's a European thing. But, whenever I hear songs like that, it does stick with me for some reason.

For me, it's less about feeling reflective and more about channeling that despair into an externalized, cathartic energy (read: wild awkward dance moves).
