yes I just saw that linked from an article yesterday.

His posts aren't even accurate from a Biblical perspective. When they translated various words as 'man', they actually were referring to humankind, not male humans as that guy claims.

also: "While both man and woman were made for the glory of God, woman glorifies God by being the help meet to man that God designed her to be."

lol no. 'meet' in old English meant 'equal to'. It wasn't a fancy way of spelling 'mate', and the way 'helpmeet' got turned into a noun is depressing. The word for 'help' there (ezer) has connotations of equality or even superiority (as in saviour, rescuer, source of strength etc; it's the same term frequently used for God), not inferiority or servanthood. The verse directly followed how it was not good that Adam was alone, hence Eve was created as his suitable (meet) saviour/companion to save him from that loneliness. So the implication instead is that women are there for men to depend on. Which still isn't the most feminist thing, because patriarchy, but much better than the mistaken idea that women were created to serve men, as this dude thinks.

additional fun fact: 'one flesh' is not actually an euphemism for sex, but refers to the formation of new kinship bonds. It's the same term used for platonic family relationships.

I nitpick because otherwise I will be very sad.
