So this happened on my facebook feed:

- a friend who's a woman of colour made an excited post about Oprah's Golden Globes speech and how it's so good to hear strong black female voices in the media

- random dude: "Oprah may be a woman, but she is not a spokesperson for women. She is an elite neoliberal thinker and an apologist for massive multinational corporations. Her beliefs (as with Obama and HRC) promote the continued oppression of women and minorities. I don't understand why you lament the lack of female voices for the sake of hearing a female voice. I listen to Susan Huckabee Sanders almost erryday! By that logic, you must miss Obama because he was black, ignoring the massive loss of black wealth during his presidency. I may be condescending, but Hillary, Obama, Oprah are not saviors for humanity. Indeed, they are responsible for the wars, the warming, and the income inequality, and oppression. However, there are plenty of great women doing wonderful organizing: Tarana Burke, Naomi Klein, Linda Sarsour!!"

I suppose I should have just said "far left", even though I'm aware there is some overlap with other philosophies. The person quoted above is almost a facsimile of far left people I know or have encountered
