Two and a Half Men - Am I understanding this correctly?

I never watched a single episode of this show and I only know what I've read and heard on Youtube clips. But, when the kid (the half man) left he was replaced by a lesbian character, right? And the name of the show stayed the same. So, doesn't that imply that a lesbian is a half man because she's a woman who likes women? Did this actually happen?

I think CBS probably just valued brand name recognition with one of their most popular properties instead of trying to make some weird statement about lesbians.

You're a "glass is half full" kind of guy, aren't you?

Somehow I never knew about the kid leaving at some point. I knew about the main character leaving and being replaced due to Charlie Sheen being Charlie Sheen.

The biggest mistake Charlie Sheen ever made was being Charlie Sheen.

I mean, CBS caring about profit more than anything else is not exactly an optimistic hot take.

TAAHM is one of those shows that seems to always be on when I eat, so I've managed to watch more of it than I'd normally care to... but I haven't seen hardly anything from the post-Sheen years. They just don't show them much.
In any case, I'm with Rax in that they probably just kept the title for monetary "brand name" recognition, but I'm guessing there was some kind of "discussion" about it when it happened. Probably would've been quite funny to be a fly on that wall!
