You joke, but stories like this prove that the "lesser evils" argument is inane, distracting bullshit and anyone who seriously engages it by this point is stupid, ignorant, malicious, or a combination of all three. The Democrats are helping spooks infiltrate all three levels of government and creating a state coextensive with the intelligence apparatus. This is, literally, fascism. If there is a "lesser evil", the Democrats aren't it. They typically function as the spoonful of sugar that helps ruling class predations against the public go down easier, but recently they haven't even been that. The good cop/bad cop theater the two parties engage in seems to be falling apart as the Democrats grow more overtly evil.
