Re: Resident Evil 2 Remake
"The genre-defining masterpiece Resident Evil 2 returns, completely re-built from the ground up for a deeper narrative experience. Using Capcom's proprietary RE Engine, Resident Evil 2 offers a fresh take on the classic survival horror saga with breathtakingly realistic visuals, heart-poundingly immersive audio, a new over-the-shoulder camera, and modernized controls on top of gameplay modes from the original game. The nightmares return reimagined for the PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®4 Pro on January 25, 2019.
In Resident Evil 2, the classic action, tense exploration, and puzzle solving gameplay that defined the Resident Evil series returns. Players join rookie police officer Leon Kennedy and college student Claire Redfield, who are thrust together by a disastrous outbreak in Raccoon City that transformed its population into deadly zombies. Both Leon and Claire have their own separate playable campaigns, allowing players to see the story from both characters' perspectives. The fate of these two fan favorite characters is in players hands as they work together to survive and get to the bottom of what is behind the terrifying attack on the city. Will they make it out alive?"

Re: Resident Evil 2 Remake
Nearly 18 minutes of gameplay footage.
Fuck I don't even care that I'm the only posting and even reading this thread, I am so hyped for this against my better judgement that I've gotten almost nothing done in the last two days.

Haha. I can understand how this news could give RE fans a raging hard-on, so it's okay... I'm still judging you.

Re: Resident Evil 2 Remake
There's a famous puzzle in the original RE2 where you have to find a medallion and stick it in a weird slot on a fountain to open up some secret passage or something.
Well get this- in the remake, it seems you have to find THREE MEDALLIONS to do this now. This must mean the game is therefore three times better. affspoeragspesfI fuckin want it now.

Hahah. If the Witcher 3 taught you anything, it is that MORE is not always BETTER.

Touche.
I will say though that Capcom has a pretty strong model to look at with this game though in the remake of RE1 (Which is one of the best games ever made IMO, since its additions to RE1 were pretty smartly and cleverly integrated), and the parts of RE2make that they've shown off resemble the strongest parts of RE7 (Their most recent survival horror game) except even better and addressing a lot of the complaints I had about that game.
Obviously the game could be shit and I'll call it out if it is, but there's good reason to be positive so far.
Look at that man's "WE DO IT!" shirt. That's confidence. I believe in him.

Imagine what they could do on future hardware. They could add a fourth medallion. Maybe even a fifth.Well get this- in the remake, it seems you have to find THREE MEDALLIONS to do this now. This must mean the game is therefore three times better.
Has gaming gone too far?

Imagine...a world where you need thousands of medallions to progress in Resident Evil 2...
This is the world I dream of, and will make a reality.

Re: Resident Evil 2 Remake
You are a true visionary.
Hopefully Capcom contracts you or something.
You have convinced me their medallion game isn't strong enough yet.
I was just afraid of progress, blinded by greatness.
Each of those will also need a place to be hidden in. Imagine how big Racoon City will be.
