Re: Oscar Nominations 2020
I have to say I'm surprised to see two Netflix films nominated for Best Picture. Seeing Parasite there is a pleasant surprise as well, since foreign language films only get nominated every few years (I'm not sure what the last one even was off of the top of my head. Maybe Haneke's Amour? EDIT: What am I thinking? There was Roma last year.)- It almost certainly must be a shoo-in for International Feature Film then.

Re: Oscar Nominations 2020
So Saoirse is nominated for the fourth time (Atonement, Brooklyn, Lady Bird). That is really nice. I'm very happy for her.
Re: Oscar Nominations 2020
Also, its interesting this is the second year in a row where a comic book movie has a BP nomination, with Joker this year and Black Panther last year.

Re: Oscar Nominations 2020
Since I know nothing about it; is there a reason that Little Women seems to have a lot more attention than the usual remake does?
Re: Oscar Nominations 2020
Probably because of Greta Gerwig directing it. People seem to like her movies, for some reason.

Wow holy crap Parasite pulled out the BP win.

Imagine if 15 years ago someone told you that someone would win best actor for playing The Joker; not once, but twice.

Yeah I don't think I would have believed that.Gendo wrote:Imagine if 15 years ago someone told you that someone would win best actor for playing The Joker; not once, but twice.
Part of me still wonders how much of Ledger's win was because he passed away though.
