Girlhood

So apparently this exists:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3655522/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Girlhood.

I dunno. The trailer makes it look all right.

I dunno, I might watch it. I like these kinds of movies. Despite the timing it doesn't seem to be a cheap Boyhood knock-off. And if it sucks at least it promises a bunch of pretty people (and pretty people who seem to know how to act, too!) which Boyhood couldn't even get right.

I might watch it too. I like coming of age stories featuring girlfriends, mainly because I never had girlfriends and I always wanted that. So I get to live through movies.

It's a pathetic way to deal with my frustrations. [none]

I've always wanted girlfriends too! Although I don't know if this movie will help me with that.

Umm... no.

Fifty Shades of Grey might help, though. [none]

So I just watched it. It was good. Very honest and heartfelt and stuff.

I'm just so sick of movies starring nothing but white men all the time, over and over again, that I thought a movie starring nothing but black girls was really refreshing. And they're all very complex and human in their own right - the fact that they're black and they're girls aren't really treated as defining aspets of their identities, even though that obviously shapes their lives. They're human first and foremost, when in the vast majority of movies I've seen the exact opposite is the case. It's worth watching for that alone.

I saw it last night.

I tend to like movies like this so yeah I liked it. It was sad too.
