Substituting eres por vos is common in the places where a more antique Spanish is spoken. LIKE MINE!!! Sadly is being lost nowadays and being replaced more and more by tu eres. Cuz Mexico.

Yeah, my wife said the way Whitey said it was more proper, like how Argentinans (and apparently Guatemalans) would say it.
