Make forum member-locked?

Post by Anakin McFly »

Or could this board be blocked from search engines?

I realised I've posted way too much personal information on these boards that I really wouldn't want people (including one potential employer) stumbling upon while casually googling my screenname. >_> It's also tied here and there to my real name, because for someone working in IT, I suck at cybersecurity. Alternatively I could go on a deleting-binge, but I don't like deleting stuff with other people's replies.

Or maybe a thing where we can lock individual threads?

If you post anything you don't want certain people reading, make sure you post it on the VIP board.

If there are specific threads you'd like to have moved to the VIP section, let me or another mod know and we'll sort you out [smile]

Yeah, if you didn't know, the VIP board at the bottom of the board list is a section that can ONLY be seen by people who are in the VIP category. You can see the list of all people who have access to it from the link in the description there. As aels said, we'll be happy to move any threads you want; just let us know.

Yeah, I just remembered the VIP board existed!

Probably just this one for now, since it has lots of stuff about my life:

I kinda liked it when I didn't have to sign in to see if anyone had replied to a certain thread. Now it's like ugh I have to type a few things to just check.

Or just never leave. I have picked that option. I am always online. Always.

See sometimes I get logged out without logging out. Like if I close the tab, that logs me out. And sometimes there's no reason, likes it times out.

I will find I'm logged out randomly at times. Doesn't matter as my login info gets saved though.

Happens most on my phone though, every other time I access the site it happens.

I have the randomly logged out issue on my phone with a lot of sites; I wonder if the browser just doesn't save any of that stuff properly when the app fully closes. For Sikax, it just doesn't seem like that would be much of an issue, because presumably you are going to log back in eventually... So you just do it as soon as you find yourself logged out, as opposed to before when you could wait until you actually wanted to post. Also, before, you wouldn't have see if there were VIP replies without being logged in.

I have found that if I click on The Pitter's Place it logs me back in automatically. [yes]
