What do you guys think when someone describes themselves as an Alpha Male?
I think of an orangutan.
EDIT: Corrected it.

I mostly laugh. Anyone outright stating that they are an alpha male shows a lack of self-awareness that is usually only found in Apprentice contestants, a kind of swaggering blokey bellend with a prehistoric notion of masculinity, less than lustrous attitudes towards gender politics, a tedious obsession with cars, and a lifelong fear of men maybe looking at their junk in the gym changing room, a gym that they certainly go to because they conflate physical strength with heterosexual masculine dominance.
I don't stereotype or anything

A true alpha male is someone who doesn't call themselves an alpha male. Anyone who fits into the stereotype of an 'alpha male' is pretty much just a fuckwit Neanderthal.

The creepy guy described himself as an alpha male who had no trouble with women. And my reaction was "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"
My mom wants to make me a birthday party and invite him over. I think I need a new mom,

Anyone who tells you they have no trouble with women has trouble with women, even if the trouble with women that they have is that you are now laughing at them.

Alpha males are men who want everyone to know that they're better than you. Generally because they excel at showing off what are seen as the desirable masculine traits. They're usually dickheads.

If anyone fits the definition of an alpha male, it was my mother's father. A classic "man's man" type of person. The guy was an asshole and tough as nails...and he didn't give a fuck. But, still very playful with his children and grandchildren...so he wasn't completely unaccessable. Something about him reminded me of Sean Connery..so every time I see Connery I think of him. Then I hear my father's father was similar...though I never met him. He was really tall and I found out recently that he was a smuggler(not sure I want to know what that means).
The actor/character I looked up to as an ideal "alpha male" to admire was probably Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones. I know James Bond is the fanstasy alpha for most little boys(and grown man-children), but fuck Bond...Indiana Jones is the man.

Indy is a terrible archaeologist but I still want to be Indiana Jones when I grow up.
