My friend and I tried tracing it. It is insane. Estimates say that someone joining the queue now will reach the end in about 8 hours. There are schoolchildren in there. D: And the sun is really hot.

Apparently a hotel is giving out free iced water, and other companies have set out chairs and portable toilets. Which is awesome of them. The queue also passes by a stretch of road lined with pubs. I wonder how many would just give up and go in.

...the weather report says there's a 100% chance of rain. [none]

also, this:

they look like smartphone salutes.

Damn. I mean, the man was in his 90s and had pneumonia for over a month. Did the public know this? Or was it a surprise when he died?

The US does this for Presidents as well. Reagan had a slow death, and he had a huge turnout at his funeral.

I mean I get why it's a huge turnout; he was an important man. I'm just curious if the people knew he was on his way out or not.

Yeah, we knew; it was in the news for a while that he was in critical condition in the hospital, so people were prepared. He's lived a long life and accomplished much.
