No seriously, I think it's the sort of movie you had to watch in college to appreciate.

I watched it about 6 years ago and thought it was stupid. I don't understand all the praise it gets.

The first 2/3rds of that movie are pretty awesome - the final third was underwhelming.

A lot of people have been underwhelmed on first viewing. It's the kind of movie which improves on mature reflection and repeat viewing.

This is true. I still think it falls apart in the last third after repeated viewings.

I just thought, for a comedy, this sure isn't funny. I judge comedies solely on how much they make me laugh, and I laughed maybe once during this shit. I don't see why I'd laugh more on a second viewing.
