"Basically... there are 10 people over there who want it to be funny... and there are other 8 people, right there, that want it to be funny and like 2 people who don't want it to be funny... so there are a lot of people who want it to be funny."

Makes perfect sense, except the Simpsons has always sucked. None of them ever got revenge by having a guy's parents killed and then serving them to him as chili.

I told the guy directly to his face, when I met him. "I don't like your show. Never watched it."

He started going "Well it's a good show, it has lasted for so long, bla bla bla" And I was "Whatever, don't like it." I wonder why people don't like me, again.

The Simpsons used to be .. like, totally funny, some of the earlier stuff is ridiculously quotable, was original for its time and provided a decent social narrative.. then it fell into a huge slump for years and years .. I'd say about 4 or 5 years ago, it improved again but never to the level where it started.

Yeah, for the first six or seven seasons The Simpsons was beyond a doubt the best show on TV, and probably the funniest show ever. Then it went to shit.

Pretty sure the slump started over 10 years ago; and ended about 4 or 5 years ago. Though I've only seen a small percentage of the last 5 years.
