I do not personally know a single solitary American who is interested in soccer on any level. It's interesting. You can tell on the ESPN and similar programs that they're trying desperately to sell soccer as something to give a shit about, but it's not happening.

TBH, I'm one of the Americans that don't really care either, but I did see the last 13 minutes or so. I actually had no idea it was on until I finished "Hercules" and channel surfed to the station broadcasting it.

Kind of makes me wish I had seen it for Carli Lloyd's hat trick in under 16 minutes, with that last one coming in from the halfway line.

Despite my earlier comment, I must admit that a large portion of the population in El Paso cares a great deal about soccer. It's a Mexican-American thing, I guess. The park by my house even has soccer goals set up, and you can't walk by the place at night without seeing at least 2 or 3 kids playing the shit.

Must be a Texas thing. I lived in East L.A. for a while among a very high Latino population and soccer was mentioned exactly never.
