Elections are coming and I don't want to vote

I'm not even keeping up with local politics because everything sucks anyway and I'm apathetic and would rather just ignore it all.
Voting in the US would be so much easier because some candidates are obviously just evil. Here everybody is morally ambiguous.
Also I have close friends and family on both sides of the local political divide who have very strong feelings, meaning that at least some people I respect will judge me no matter who I vote for. And yeah, votes are private, but I'd still feel judged.
...except that I'd probably be judged by even more of them if I spoil my vote.

You say that like you think some are not.

Well, some are less evil than others.

And generally just voting Democratic seems to be a good rule of thumb.

Focus on congress.
I'm going to vote for congress but not for president and I think voting is bullshit.
Not sure if you can vote in congress over there though.

Nope, we don't have congress. These are the general elections for parliament. I'm not entirely sure how it works, because it'll be my first time voting. I guess I'll have to educate myself on Wikipedia before the actual day.

I thought we were talking about the U.S.A. on planet earth, the country that currently has one of the most ineffective and incompetent chief executives in history. My mistake, carry on.

^ but what about the alternative though
Here there's firstly the ruling political party which has been in power forever and will almost definitely win the most seats. They're conservative, and people complain about them a lot because of their occasional morally dubious things when it comes to marginalised populations, or sacrificing human welfare for the sake of progress and more money. But they're also extremely efficient and have been largely responsible for building Singapore into a first-world country and making sure that things (education, healthcare, police etc) work properly and are among the best and least corrupted in the world.
Then there's the main opposition party which basically wants to do everything different and give power back to the regular people, but might quite possibly just make things worse because they lack the experience; they also don't like immigrants and foreigners because they're taking all our jobs, which makes lots of people happy because nothing creates national unity like hating job-stealing foreigners. A good number of their supporters are really just supporting them because they hate the current government, and are being really obnoxious about it.
tbh I'd be happy for the current bunch to retain power but just start being better at caring about people and the lower socioeconomic classes, but that's not an option we can vote for.

Your country is the utopia of the liberals. Just like Estonia.

Wait what. Most liberals I know hate it here. Estonia got ranked #1 on the State of World Liberty Index, whereas we're somewhere near the bottom 30%.

People here use your country as a liberalism is a success flag. It's because of the lack of taxation on imports and/or exports. Estonia because of the flat tax.
