Taking over unvoiced apollo's specialty

Post by Cassius Clay »

Favorite Disney songs.

Mulan's I'll make a man out of you. This song is prolly hella sexist, but it's awesome. Or maybe they were trying to be ironic/subversive because she ends up being better "man" than all the guys.

The whole I'll make a man out of you reminds me of Men in Tights. And I do think the music is ironic considering Mulas is one of the best feminists movies ever and the best feminist movie Disney has, it's only problem was that Mulan is an asian girl. Had she been blonde/blue eyed like Elsa this film would have been a great success.

Ummm... no. WTF?! This is going to give me nightmares,

But I've seen the shark version. It's funny. Made me want to see Sharknado.

Another one from Little Mermaid. Never liked Under the Sea that much. But I love this one too, so soothing.

Also Eric is perhaps my favorite prince. [iloveu] Next to the Sleeping Beauty Prince. I love all the Sleeping Beauty songs mainly because they are Tchaikovsky, if it wasn't for him I'd be one of those ridiculous homophobic Christians.

^ Best of bestness

^ Totally underrated villain song

^ There is nothing bad about a film where Angela Lansbury fights Nazis with magic

^ Totally underrated Disney film

^ OOH DE LALLY

You and Liszty beat me to I'll Make A Man Out Of You and Hellfire, and I'm not including Be Prepared because it's too obvious. Also I just listened to Everybody Wants To Be A Cat again and remembered how completely fucking racist Disney was/is.

Wait, Mulan wasn't a huge success? It seems to be an internet favourite, though maybe it didn't do that well at the box office.

I can't post video at work, but "Eye 2 Eye" from A Goofy Movie always put me in a good mood.

I think it did ok. But people consider it part of the "bad movies" from Disney after Lion King. And I disagree. This one was better than Pocahontas, Tarzan and Hercules put together. Mainly because of this:

I guess Disney's portray of China might be a little stereotypical and borderline racist. And people might have found Eddy Murphy annoying. But either way Good Movie, deserved more attention.

Mulan is great. The only thing that never made sense to me was why are they referring to the Mongols as Huns? I'm pretty sure the Huns never went to China. Am I wrong?
The agonies which are have their origin in the ecstasies which might have been.

There's several I like, many from the same movie. And I'd have to divide them into Hero & villain for some. So rather than overload on youtube vids, I'm going to just list the movies & songs I can remember.

Great Mouse Detective
-World's Greatest Criminal Mind

Little Mermaid:
-Hero: Part of Your World (fuck the reprise)
-Villain: Poor Unfortunate Souls
-Honorable mention: Kiss the Girl (only because it's one of the few Disney songs I can sing halfway decently)

Beauty & the Beast
-Hero: Belle & it's reprise, Be Our Guest, Something There (I like how Belle & Something There has verses that parallell one another)
-Villain: Gaston

Aladdin:
Um...all of them? I really just like them all here. Street Rat, Whole New World, Friend Like Me, Prince Ali. Don't make me choose!

Lion King:
-Villain: Be Prepared

Pocohantas
-Hero: Colors of the Wind

Hunchback of Notre Dame
-Hero: God Help the Outcasts
-Villain: Hellfire (arguably the best villain song in the Disney Cannon)
-Dishonorable Mention: I hate "Guy Like You". Worse than even Fixer Upper from Frozen in my opinion. Arguably the worst song in Disnet canon.

Hercules
-I Won't Say I'm in Love

Mulan
-Reflection, Be a Man

The Princess & the Frog
-Friends on the Other Side

Tangled
-Again, I just like all the songs here. I think it has to do with the sequences that go with them. I will say "Mother Knows Best" & it's reprise are one of my top favorite villain songs. The lantern scene from "I see the light" is gorgeous.
-Honorable mention: Kingdome dance. It's not a song, but I love the sound as well as the sequence that goes with it.

Frozen
-Hero: Do You Want to Build a Snowman/For the First time in Forever Reprise>Let it Go
-Villain:Love is An Open Door. What can I say, I like how if suckers you in.

I LOVED Kingdom Dance. Tangled just like Princess and the Frog I have seen few times and I still can't remember the lyrics. So in my opinion in the song department they fail. And I mean, I was quoting The Room after ONE seeing... so it's not memorable at all!

Lion King has the best instrumental music. I think this is the one reason why this one is my favorite movie, the orchestra behind it is beyond beautiful.

Also another of my favorites, possibly my favorite:
