I especially like the part where he says "I was always attracted to women" and "I also have never been in love with a man. I have been in love or what I thought was love with a woman," but is positioning himself as the spokesmen for all gay men who, like him, actually like women but chose to sex the men instead and thus were not born that way.
favourite part: "I dated this girl in High School that had the most amazing breast."
also "I would compare my demeanor to the actor Zachary Quinto who one would never know was Gay unless he told you that he was gay."
lololololol
He also goes on this weird spiel about being attracted to African-Americans but "I again have to admit that I have turned down applications for certain jobs simply because the person was African American. ... I don't consider myself a racist."
Yeah, that guy doesn't seem legit...but there are definitely people who think anything less than screaming racial slurs and vile hatred of a particular race doesn't count as racism.
"I just do not believe that people are born gay. I was not born gay. Some gay men are effeminate. But that does not mean that they were born that way. "
this guy is a mess - the above statement seems to be all you really need to know about him. His experience is, apparently, the model for everyone.
TBH - I find the whole notion of "born gay" problematic in so much as its only relevant when addressing the objection that God doesn't make people gay. It doesn't specifically speak to any implied morality associated with being gay even in theological terms. If you are gay and you feel that being gay or acting on same sex desires is immoral, then you are faced with the exact same dilemma regardless of whether you feel you were born that way or not ..
The executive summary is - pretty much everything that chap says can be boiled down to "what I do is reflective of everyone in my position" .. which is mind numbingly arrogant.
I've seen too many legit posts like that that I can't even tell if he's trolling.

Yeah. The more relevant issue there would be whether or not it's a choice, and people tend to think that things you're born with are more immutable (even though that's not the case).
The 'born gay' argument is probably more relevant to things like parents wanting to know if it's possible for them to influence their child's sexual orientation, or if nothing they do can make a difference because it's set in stone from birth.
Personally - he doesn't sound like a troll to me given what he is saying isn't all that uncommon a mix between arrogance and ignorance..
I guess the choice thing, if by choice people mean an actual conscious choice to be attracted to same sex people .. comes into play if the individual considers being gay to be wrong and if so - what is the remedy, as you said.
But given this was written by an ostensibly gay man who doesn't consider being gay to be wrong, I'm not sure what angle he is shooting for past making some sort of "Man behind the curtain" expose ..
There seems to be so much wrong headedness in that post its kinda hard to get a bead on where its all going TBH
That thread got depressing and really racist fast. And lol I got accused of being a self-entitled black guy who's "threatened by the facts" and hijacked the thread to make it ~all about me~, just because I suggested that having darker skin doesn't actually make people more biologically inclined to commit crime, as they were suggesting, which makes no scientific sense. They keep talking about how a disproportionate number of incarcerated people in the US are black and that this proves that black people are inherently criminal, and it's aggravating how they don't understand that 1) correlation =/= causation because there are so many other factors at play, 2) black people get more highly policed and this naturally leads to more arrests.
I also like the part where he says that poverty can't explain it because, unlike white people who may act out of desperation, black people also like committing crime for fun.
Um, the OP of that thread is Straight_Vanilla, a Mutha clone who has been trolling both the Religion and Politics boards for at least a decade. This is also him:
Pretending to be gay is rather tame for him. He was once a circus midget in love with a donkey. He's also been a woman at least a half dozen times, including one woman in her 50s who didn't know where her clitoris was located.

You can't hang a man for killing a woman who's trying to steal his horse.
ugh ok, thanks for the note. What about that rascal67, InherentlyYours and The_PhoenixRises? They're making me want to genocide people. Discussion is impossible there and I don't know why I'm still replying to explain that unlike gay kids, black kids don't actually risk getting rejected by their biological parents for being black or have to live in fear of their parents discovering that they're black, which seems ridiculously self-evident to me and I don't know how it ended up taking several posts. Am I being trolled or are they really that dense? I'm just going to delete my last reply because I have better things to do with my life than intervene in a flamewar between racist white gay guys and homophobic straight black guys.
InherentlyYours is a condescending racist git who claims that white people are only racist because black people are mostly criminals, as proven by how many of them are in jail, and The_PhoenixRises is a black guy whose idea of countering racism is insulting gay people and suggesting that women who disagree with him are prostitutes.
