Re: Z is pronounced zee.
Of course it is. How else would the alphabet song work?! Zed doesn't rhyme!
Re: Z is pronounced zee.
Wait, British people don't say "zee"?? Never knew that. I've heard "zed" before, but I thought it was just some weird slang or something.

Every time a British person pronounces the letter "z", I think of this:
Re: Z is pronounced zee.
Not only do we say 'zed', most countries say 'zed': http://www.todayifoundout.com/index.php ... -z-as-zed/
WORDS IN THE HEART CANNOT BE TAKEN

Thanks to British colonialism, Nigerians pronounce it "zed" as well. If you're going to force English on us, at least at least make sure it's not bizzaro English. ![none [none]](./images/smilies/none.gif)

This is the best I could come up with to rewrite the ABC song to match "zed". I like it:
...w, x, y, and zed, now I know my abc's, next time I'll sing 'til I'm dead.

I say Zee as God intends to.
Zed sounds like Zombie. It's on State of Decay.

We pronounce it "zäta," which is clearly the correct alternative.

^ Only time Zed has ever been an acceptable pronunciation.
I was wondering what the point of the OP was. I never would've guessed that the English not only don't know when to use the letter Z, they also don't know what the letter's even fucking called. The language really should just be called American.

In German it's Zett (tsett), rhymes with bet.
Common sense is another word for prejudice.

It's Zed here - but most people wouldn't care to correct anyone who pronounced it Zee, except when it's short for the name of something that has a common use which when you are so close to a country like NZ that has its initials in so many companies here, is reasonably frequently.
For instance - one of our major banks is the ANZ (Australia and New Zealand Bank) which is pronounced "A N Zed, but my American counterparts insist on calling it A N Zee..
