Important question for all of you:

Post by Dr_Liszt »

I think it's a discussion worth having:

Why am I so weird?

Let me answer that with a question of my own:

How much do you bench?

I've seen you do it, you struggle with that. Perhaps work on your technique, I hear a good wrist action helps.

I bet you got a great wrist action technique, Whitey.

Actually I've been told my technique on the clean and jerk is a bit shoddy, I'm much better at the snatch. [none]

I don't see why you're disgusted, I'm quite clearly only talking using proper technical lifting terms. [none]

There's no such thing as "normal". There are only people who lack any discernible individuality/personality/intelligence and as such accept the standardised constructs of "normality" that society places on everyone to try to make them fit in much, much more easily that everyone else because they have nothing to resist them with.

I'd argue that such a conscious desire to conform is indeed a discernible and interesting personality trait in itself.

Your statement is ambiguous.

If you're referring to massed ranks of "normality" out there, then you are supposing that there is a conscious desire to conform rather than just a passive default of acquiescence because they lack any alternative.

If you're referring to our own Liszt then just because she because she identifies herself as not being normal neither means that she wants to be normal nor does it mean that she has deliberately chosen to be that way.

So I'm not sure which way you were going with that...

Yeah I guess this.

I did try to be normal. Trying to be normal made me as unhappy as just being by myself. So I don't know how to win this thing.
