So I've decided to watch all the Fast and Furious movies
So I've decided to watch all the Fast and Furious movies
because Paul Walker is dead and eveeeryyyboodyy is talking about the new movie.
So far I'm at the part where the motorbiker taps Paul Walker's window with a gun and asks him to stop. That brings me fun memories.
Also I saw this movie when it came out, I hardly remember the plot. The one I remember the most is Tokyo Drift. I liked that one.

I watched the first one shortly after it came out and was just like, meh. Then I saw Tokyo Drift and was like, fuck this shit. Haven't seen one since, and don't really intend to.

I remember after this movie Need for Speed turned into the whole street racing/pimp your car kind of game. I had a white Mustang, didn't feel like pimping it up because it looked so trashy.
But what I liked most about Tokyo Drift is the fact that a 30 year old guy can enter high school in Japan.

Lucas Black was 24 at the time.
Ah, wait, I just saw who you meant.

Remember that the Fast & the Furious movies have a weird Chronological order.
Re: So I've decided to watch all the Fast and Furious movies
I love them all. They aren't "good" movies, but they are vastly entertaining. And seeing them all throughout the past decade and a half I've become emotionally invested, just like anyone is with any of their favorite series, you know, you feel like you know the characters and whatnot. And so when Paul Walker died, that was shitty. And this new movie, to me and other fans at least, is fucking frosting on the cake. I know they'll probably make more, you know, reinvent the series and all that because people like money, but ending it now would be perfect. Paul is one half of what drives the series, and he's gone. And it sucks.
The agonies which are have their origin in the ecstasies which might have been.

Meh, I rather watch them in the order they were released and then be confused later.Unvoiced_Apollo wrote:Dr_Liszt wrote:because Paul Walker is dead and eveeeryyyboodyy is talking about the new movie.

You're really gonna be confused when you see a dead character from Tokyo Drift show up in a later movie.Dr_Liszt wrote:Meh, I rather watch them in the order they were released and then be confused later.Unvoiced_Apollo wrote:Dr_Liszt wrote:because Paul Walker is dead and eveeeryyyboodyy is talking about the new movie.

So I saw F&F 2 despite Eva Mendez. Eva Mendez is in the same group as Katie Holmes, there is something about their faces that makes me want to change the channel, I don't know if it is because they are terrible actresses or what, but there is something really fake about them. So I resisted with my compulsion to turn it off and yeah, I enjoyed it, I liked the scramble part.

Re: So I've decided to watch all the Fast and Furious movies
It's a weird franchise. Largely critically unloved for the first 4 films, it's like they decided that writing decent scripts might help them from the fifth movie on, and the box office numbers have gone through the roof. Check out the respective figures from Rotten Tomatoes and Box Office Mojo.
The Fast & The Furious 53% $207m
2 Fast 2 Furious 36% $236m
Tokyo Drift 37% $158m
Fast & Furious 28% $363m
Fast 5 78% $626m
Fast & Furious 6 68% $788m
Fast 7 82%
Obviously Fast 7 only opened last weekend but it took $392m worldwide and is likely to make over a billion. I can't think of any other franchise like it.
I only watched half the first one before turning it off out of boredom, but then I watched Fast 5 a week ago and enjoyed it. It is helped by a distinct lack of actual street racing. I will say this, these films probably inspire more confused, uncomfortable erections than any others.

I don't doubt it, but they brought back Vin Diesel, simultaneously saving the franchise and his career.
