I love how the comments on the article are calling for death row. Even better, some guy from the British Army writes, and I quote, "Murder is murder, whether it's an animal or a human." Erm...wut?

Oh, btw, I don't agree with her shooting the cat. That's pretty messed up. But at the same time, it was just a cat. Death threats are a bit much. She's already lost her job.

I feel really conflicted about this sort of thing. Like, on the one hand, don't shoot cats, you fucking psycho. On the other hand, I eat meat and I don't have to. So I don't know how outraged I get to be when it comes to the unnecessary suffering of animals. I wouldn't shoot a cat. But I would eat a cow. So am I a hypocrite? (That's not rhetorical, the answer is yes).

I wouldn't hurt an animal for the fun of it. I would kill an animal for food. Then, I like hurting people for fun but I wouldn't kill them for food. Double standards

I'm not sure how killing a stray cat on your property is all that different from setting a mouse or rat trap, except that people tend to like cats far more than they do mice and rats. I'm not sure if that's what happened here, but it's entirely possible from what I read on that link.

Feral cats carry disease and wreak havoc on the ecosystem and need to be killed. She should be commended and the veterinary clinic that fired her should be sued and awarded to her by the court. Then everyone who commented negatively should be hunted down with a crossbow. Now if it wasn't feral then it's a different story but a vet would probably know if a cat is a feral vermin and not a pet.

I didn't read the article. I tend to assume all cats are domestic because I've never seen a feral cat. No one should kill a domestic cat, even if it trespasses your property. You catch it and then shoot the neighbors for being irresponsible and not keeping an eye on their cats. Then you get to keep the cat and cuddle with it. Simple.

I've been reading that this was actually a local family's pet. My cats were indoor cats but a couple of times in their life, they got out and we panicked and combed the streets looking for them (they never went very far away because they were frightened and, in one case, stupid). It was very distressing. I can't imagine having your cat disappear and then finding out that someone had shot it. And I know Brandon is going to call me a sissy. And I am a sissy.
