This cannot end well. Hundreds of thousands of people have been stripped of recognition as Dominican citizens. Basically anybody who cannot prove they have at least one Dominican parent, and who arrived in or was born in the country after 1929. Given the poverty-stricken status of Haiti I'm not sure what they can do to prevent tens of thousands of people who have never been to their country being dumped over their border, or what they can do for those people once they arrive.
So the Dominican Republic may be about to start deporting thousands of Haitians

yeap.
And of course most of them don't even speak creole so language is going to be a problem.
I can't believe that someone born in a country can't claim that country as their own. Something is very wrong here.
