Re: Truly, quite, lost for words
He should have already set himself on fire when he found out we had legalized laziness, greed, over-eating, lying, pre-marital sex, cheating on your marriage partner, coveting your neighbor's wife, divorce, atheism, the worship of false gods, etc. Incidentally, suicide actually is illegal, probably at least in part because of his ancient rule book, but he claims to have no qualms about that, apparently.
And as for the man in the OP, that's just sad. I also couldn't help but notice the author said he had done charity work in India, the Middle East, and "Africa". I see that shit all the fucking time. No wonder so many Americans think Africa's a country.
Like, you're writing an article about a man who was so frustrated with racial injustice he set himself on fire, but you can't even recognize that Africa is a huge and diverse continent with more countries than any other continent.

You realise "the Middle East" also isn't a country either, right Bruce? ![none [none]](./images/smilies/none.gif)

Re: Truly, quite, lost for words
The "Africa" thing has always pissed me off. In movies, they'll be like, "Oh sweet I'm going to China, India, Berlin, Los Angeles, and Africa."
So fucking horrible and just, like, assuming no one will understand you if you name a particular country (other than maybe South Africa and Egypt). Fuck, I just want to yell right now just thinking about it.
Anyway, for the man in the OP, I am split between sadness and joy. The fucking balls it takes to do that astounds me. Buddhist monks and North African protesters have had them, but an 80-year-old Texas fucking preacher?? That is some shit.

Yes, but at least it's more specific than "Africa", and I often see the media specify actual countries in the Middle East, like Iraq and Iran and Israel and Saudi Arabia, but whether someone visits Zimbabwe, Sudan, or Ghana, it's always referred to as "Africa".Blade Azaezel wrote:You realise "the Middle East" also isn't a country either, right Bruce?

America counts as the U.S and Canada because of the idiots Spanish being idiotic.
But I guess it's because the African continent has been dehumanized to the extreme it doesn't even matter if they have countries or cultures anymore. Just put your transnational over there and be quiet. Is all good.
