Movies I Saw: Ant-Man & Minions

Definitely a different kind of super hero movie. Even in scale in terms of story it was small. It was pretty much a heist movie with some super hero action. It's incredibly funny and know how to have fun with the powers. They do a good job of tying it into the MCU and balancing that with being it's own movie. They even explain why their situation doesn't call for the Avengers (spoiler alert: Ant-Man fights Falcon. It does end up falling back on some cliches. For instance, you know exactly what is going to happen to Scott Lang's daughter. Otherwise, movie was very enjoyable. 8/10.

Minions - Why dId I watch this? I know why...I had nothing to do & a bunch of friends were going to see it. This was bad. Aside from the sixties songs for parents & the animation, there wasn't any redeeming quality for this movie aside from the animation. This is the type of kids' film I absolutely despise because it essentially shows the creators don't care about the audience aside from making money off the parents that get dragged to this kind of movie by kids who don't know any better. What really annoys me is that this could have been another unusual but creative kids' film. I truly believe the minions could carry their own film, but this definitely went in the wrong direction.

I thought Despicable Me was pretty good. DM2 was meh, and Minion was just awful.
