And this guy has a history of saying dumb shit about race, and was schooled by Ta-nehesi Coates a few years ago. But, yes, let's legitimize this idiot insisting on downplaying the role of race in all this.

This race blindspot on the far left is a major fucking issue, and it's feeding into the narrative that Trump and Clinton are no different. Because, without proper race analysis, the problem is simplistically interpreted as establishment vs the people. And since establishment is the enemy in charge we might as well say Clinton and Trump are the same, while not holding a lot of "the people" properly accountable for their part. And once you've decided this is your narrative, you start interpreting reality selectively to make sense of it. And now, even though populism on the right is inseparable from hate/racism/etc, we have the left and the right unwittingly(or not) colluding to create this often tenuous and conspiratorial narrative about how deeply mistrustful Clinton is, to the point where she might as well be Trump. And we have to humor this complete joke of a candidate. Fuck everything.
