I don't remember when you came along, Bruce. I thought you were there on the Religion Board when the Simon thing happened. Guess not. Gendo (and especially Jordan) would remember the details better, but essentially Simon was a guy who came up with fantastical stories and travels and eventually got found out to be a complete fraud. It was quite amusing.

Re: Happy Birthday Simon!
It was suspected that he was someone's sock account. And Gendo always seems to remember his birthday....

Oh, I remember hearing that story, just forgot the names. Is this the guy that "died" or had a friend that "died"? I became active in '08 or '09 I think, and I'm pretty sure this was before my time.
Re: Happy Birthday Simon!
I don't remember people thinking he was a sock; rather just a random troll. A few of us are still friends with "him" on Facebook, which is where the birthday thing comes from.
Re: Happy Birthday Simon!
He had a friend, Jack Manley, who also joined the forum. Jack was in a motorcycle accident and eventually died from it. It was eventually discovered that Jack was just a sock of Simon, and nothing Simon had ever told us was true.BruceSmith78 wrote:Oh, I remember hearing that story, just forgot the names. ^ Oh yeah, that was it. I thought Simon was supposed to be someone's sock.

Re: Happy Birthday Simon!
I was hoping to be the first to post this. Keep on rocking, Simon, and rest in power, Jack!
Re: Happy Birthday Simon!
It was bizarre when Simon showed back up on IMDB trying to pretend nothing ever happened.
